Musical Chairs for Ferguson, Frelinghuysen and Garrett

It's the most contentious issue in politics. Every decade the state must redraw districts for the Congressional delegation. Friendships are lost and hours of productive time is squandered.

The tendency of the delegation and the redistricting commission has always been to approach the issue on a bipartisan basis. Both parties and all incumbents are accommodated to the fullest extent possible.

Hopefully, Scarinci's new book will include insider information on the '01 map

Later this spring, New Jersey Heritage Press will release Donald Scarinci’s new book: "Redistricting and the Politics of Reform." It includes information about redistricting in 22 states, along with a section about New Jersey redistricting history. Scarinci was one of the key players on the 2001 legislative redistricting plan that helped Democrats capture control of the Legislature.
