IN WAKE OF PHARMACEUTICALS FOUND IN DRINKING WATER, SEN. MENENDEZ WANTS TO KNOW IF E.P.A. HAS A HANDLE ON SITUATION

WASHINGTON – In the wake of the Associated Press report this week that it found pharmaceuticals in the drinking water supplies of 24 major metropolitan areas and in the state of New Jersey, U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) wants to know if the Environmental Protection Agency is on top of the situation. In his letter to EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson today, Senator Menendez asks if the EPA has conducted its own testing, if it has gotten similar results and if it has taken steps to mitigate the presence of pharmaceuticals and determine if such a presence poses any health risks.
