Times they are a-changin’ up in Monmouth County

Monmouth County Freeholder Bill Barham announced last night that he would not seek re-election.  Possible candidates to replace him include Holmdel Mayor Serena DiMaso, Red Bank Councilman John Curley, Middletown Mayor Gerry Sharfenberger, Neptune activist Mel Hood, and two local elected officials who have lost Freeholder bids in recent years, Jeff Cantor and Andrew Lucas.

What Monmouth County thinks of Barham

I will share with you what is being said on the Asbury Park press website, it is a real lovefest;

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Billy Boy. No one will miss you

Everyone pretty much knows Barham couldn't win a re-election after all the material he created for even a weak challenger. Even Barham and his ego, if they could both get into one room, could determine that he was heading for massive embassaement in an election loss. So this is not really news. The really interesting event will be seeing who Barham uses as a puppet to run and do his bidding. He has a 40 year history of benefiting from using "friends and family" to exert unfair influence to take public contracting money. He might have found this is easier if you do not have to participate in open public meetings as a freeholder?

Good riddance to an accident of history! Take Carton with you to the new law firm! This is the best news the Democrats have had in years!

The dems would have been better with Barham on the ticket. He would have been easy to beat with his ties to Larrison and his companies bungling of the Hall of Records project. i wonder what else was going to come up that would have damaged his candidacy. The R's should totally run Curley from red bank. that would be classic. The guy is a total maniac. It would probably be good for the county.

I know, I know, I know Barham will leave County Government, and some how join his buddy Joe Oxley over at Scarinci & Hollenbeck, LLC. Attention County TAXPAYERS, thats right Joe Oxley is now an associate of the same law firm that he steered a massive amounts of County legal fees to under Barhams watch. Oxley wasnt out of office 4 weeks and he jumped right into his new office conveniently located in Freehold, NJ. This was probably done to help Joe get use to having to drive his own vehicle after 12 years of riding for free. Maybe the taxpayers will know be lucky enough to have Mr. Fake and Full of it ADAM run for office, after all he needs a job. In closing it looks like Barham is on the ledge and might be the next to make the list of Corrupt Officials. Saying that, if it smells like a gas leak it probably is, get the drift.
