TRAWINSKI SAYS TALARICO RESIGNATION LONG OVERDUE OFFERS TO HEAD COALITION TO REBUILD THE BERGEN GOP
Fair Lawn Councilman Edward Trawinski says the resignation of Bergen County Republican Party Chairman Guy Talarico is “long overdue welcome news for Bergen Republicans.”
“Guy Talarico’s tenure as Bergen County GOP chairman has been an unmitigated disaster for the Republican Party,” said Trawinski. “He created damage to this party that will take years to repair.”
Trawinski, who has been circulating a petition to recall Talarico, added that Talarico needs to “give the party a full accounting of the BCRO finances and let the organization’s rank and file know how deeply in debt he has left the party. I am sure there are financial blunders made by Mr. Talarico that will hamstring the party for years to come”
Trawinski said the only good thing about Talarico’s resignation is that “it will spare the party the trouble of a recall.” Nevertheless, he said the task facing the Republican Party in t he aftermath of Talarico is daunting.
“It will take a tremendous amount of effort to rebuild the Republican Organization in Bergen County and it will take the cooperation of a coalition of people from across the county and across the ideological spectrum to create an effective party organization. I will be happy to help lead that coalition,” said Trawinski.
Trawinski said Talarico’s regime “has given Democrats opportunities they should never have had. Guy Talarico has done more to make the Democrats the dominant party in Bergen County than Joe Ferriero ever could do alone. I am sure Talarico will be sorely missed --- by the Democrats.”
