Trenton firm breaking up

The Trenton lobbying firm of Mulroy, LiCausi & Gibbs is dividing up their clients, with Gene Mulroy and Gerry Gibbs splitting their business from partner Kay LiCausi. "I enjoyed working with Gene and Gerry, but I am looking forward to running my own business again as I did for many years. The firm's split is amicable and I believe we will all continue to be successful going forward," LiCausi told PolitickerNJ.com. "I wish Gene and Gerry much success and happiness."

Sounds like a good divorce

No children, each party taking their own assets and going off with their respective future partners. All are nice, smart  people.  Word was the split was personality driven.  Not at all nasty like the Harold -Hazel split which divided Trenton for a while.

Kay is a class act

The break-up is kind because Kay is a class act.  No one ever said that about Hazel Gluck!

I wasn't disagreeing-Kay is a class act

She was extremely classy with how she handled the Menendez messiness.  Menendez is  the one who could use some charm school!

Classy? Really?

Kay is a class act? REALLY? How she handled the Menendez stuff was classy? Are you for real? He was married at that time, yes? There is so much to this story that people don't know. If I was Kay, I would be spinning the heck out of this too. Wait long enough and the truth will come out about this.

Class Act? Taking A Rolling Pin To That Nonsense!

With Menendez and LiCausi apparently still under federal scrutiny, and, at least publicly, questions still being unexplained about the LiCausi reportings to ELEC about her earnings from Jersey City Medical Center, JCMC, (aka Liberty Medical) it is no wonder that someone might want to put some distance from those obviously sticky and unresolved matters.   (Remember how Tom O'Neil's numbers, speaking on behalf of JCMC, did not seem to square with the ELEC reports?)

Hey, just in case cheerleader Mom-in-Law forgot, here are a few key grafs from the New York Times coverage of the story, detailing the relationship between Menendez and LiCausi, from back in late August of this past year.  After that, things went pretty quiet until the Democrats started squawking a whole lot about Chris Christie and who he was hiring to help with the ongoing investigations.  Getting a little close to home is one possible guess! From the NY Times story back on August 28th:

But people familiar with the inquiry said that investigators were trying to determine whether Mr. Menendez had helped Ms. LiCausi win the contract to represent Liberty, and if her position was linked to the hospital’s successful efforts to win government-backed bonds.

Although Ms. LiCausi’s filings with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission do not list Liberty Health Care as a client until 2005, hospital representatives said she was paid $280,000 for work between January 2003 and February 2007.

Anyone with any sense would want some breathing space, don't you think?

And by the way, it is really only a "trial separation" unless someone gets the "house" and they're not living under the same roof.

So, here's an additional question for inquiring minds to ask -- who ends up in the convenient three story building, with all the fancy fixtures located right across the street from the State House?
