(CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, NJ)-- Today, Assemblyman Jeff Van Drew called on Senator Nick Asselta to sponsor legislation to repeal the law he voted for in 1999 which gave liberal authority to the State Treasurer to lease a broad range of state assets including state highways, state transportation structures, air rights, and buildings, just to name a few.
“This law that Nick voted for represents the broadest and boldest attempt to lease our state assets in the history of our state. If Nick is serious about his opposition to monetization, he should immediately admit his error and attempt to undo his past action. To do less would be hypocritical and disingenuous. It is time for him to admit that he made a mistake then or to admit that he is not telling the truth now,” said Van Drew.
