Republican sources say that John Crowley’s decision not to run for the United States Senate in 2008 is final, despite considerable lobbying by some GOP leaders to get the biotech millionaire in the race. Sources say that Crowley, who appeared to be in the race on Friday and then announced on Monday that he would not be a candidate, was indeed reconsidering his candidacy. That leaves the Republican field at State Sen. Joseph Pennacchio, Goya Foods millionaire Andy Unanue, and Ramapo College Professor Murray Sabrin.
On the Democratic side, four-term incumbent Frank Lautenberg is seeking re-election, and might face a primary challenge from Rep. Rob Andrews and Morristown Mayor Donald Cresitello.

I Wonder How Andy Feels
Wow, it was just last week that Andy Unanue was the GOP wonder boy.. What a difference a week of skiiing makes...
Makes Sense
Realistically, how could he change his mind? You can't come out on Monday and say that your obligations to your family, your business and the military take priority and then on Tuesday say wait a second, no they don't.
He is clearly someone to watch for the future. At the very least, he appears to be a good man who has done at least one great thing. Hopefully, he will ease into a more vocal role and, at some point in the future when he is ready, step into a more prominent position.
GOP continues its losing streak
The bottom line is that none of the present three Republican candidates will beat a democrat in November. It is such a pitiful party that we cannot come up with a credible candidate. Great leadership Tom.

Didn't sit on the sidelines anonymously hurling cr@p at people...he was a tireless and fierce warrior who stepped out and did the job. I had the honor of working for him and I'm as offended that anyone would claim his name here as I would be if anyone tried to call themselves Ronald Reagan.
