Frank Lautenberg says that Rob Andrews should refund 70% of his congressional salary back to the taxpayers because he’s missed 70% of his House votes (63 of 88) since becoming a candidate for the United States Senate. That’s not a bad tactic for Lautenberg, although it’s not clear whether Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama or John McCain would agree.

...Lautenberg's attendance record in '88, '94 and '00. If his campaign-year attendance was anywhere near similar, charge him-- with interest!
Better still: let's use the same standard to measure his "attendance" on the campaign trail. He can have 1/8th of all our votes, representing the number of debates he has dodged, so no one can see once and for all that he's incoherent and unable to function on the Senate floor.
out to lunch
Lautenberg should refund his salary for the % of votes he cast, but didn't understand.
Rope-a-dope
Is FRL's way of winning this: let your opponent exhaust himself with a flurry of activity, none of which sticks. Then knock him over with a feather.
People get absenteeism on the job. Obsure arguments about what he said in 1982 when he was first running for office won't work.
Also, it's a well known secret that the only people who watch debates are junkies like us, except, maybe, the presidential debates. So saying FRL is ducking debates is like criticizing his choice of suits. No one cares.
I agree-Lautenberg by 5 points maybe 8-10
unless Andrews has a hell of a GOTV operation he's toast
Frank is a millioner!
Why does he need his salary at all? He should refund all these years he has served NJ with so much pride and sacrifice.
