Ferriero must be glad he dumped Oury
By Wally EdgeBergen County Democratic Chairman Joseph Ferriero must be relieved that he broke up with attorney Dennis Oury last year, after published reports today suggest that federal prosecutors subpoenaed records relating to Oury’s legal service in several Bergen towns. Oury had been a close Ferriero ally and Counsel to the Bergen County Democratic Committee, but their relationship deteriorated in 2007 after Oury made a series of mistakes: he invited then-State Sen. Joseph Coniglio – himself the target of a federal criminal probe -- on a trip to Italy; he counseled Coniglio to stay in the Senate race during a time when Ferriero was pushing to get him out; and took considerable heat for his election season comments about a lawsuit he was filing to overturn state pay to play regulations. When Coniglio finally did drop, Oury’s close relationship with Paramus Mayor James Tedesco was the main reason Ferriero and Bergen Democrats opted to go with Bob Gordon for Senate.

Ferriero-Oury, two sides of the same coin
Nice try, Wally. But the spin won't work.
There is no separation between consigliere Dennis Oury and his Bergen Democratic Boss, Joe Ferriero. They are eyeball deep together into the machinations of backroom deals and political underhandedness of every conceivable sort. They know too much about each other to relinquish their bond. After all, they both know where all of the bodies are buried.
One lies and the other swears to it. That's how it works.

I agree with Terry. I have not been aware of such a split. I wonder where Wally found out about it? Not from Loretta?
The beginning of the end...
Oury will roll on Ferriero in a heartbeat to save his own hide. The house of cards is finally going to come down and who is gonna be there to step in? Loretta Weinberg, the powerhouse fundraiser? We may be on the verge of GOP renaissance in Bergen if the GOP can get its act together.
