State GOP misses payroll

The New Jersey Republican State Committee continues to struggle in the fundraising area, and have had trouble making payroll in recent weeks.  State GOP officials are trying to convince presidential candidate John McCain to return to New Jersey soon to help them raise money.

A "Way to go Brownie" Moment

I wonder if Tom Wilson will miss his State GOP check for serving as chairman of the party this month?

Maybe the State GOP can ask

Maybe the State GOP can ask to borrow some money from Obama.

25 cent lemonade!!

I think I can raise more money than the State GOP by setting up a lemonade stand outside my house.

Pathetic

Wilson is the example of everything that is wrong with the party. Won't try new things, picks lame issues to go the mat on, hasn't cultivated young people and has a weak staff except for Povia. Tom please resign!

And not paying people? That is like Russia when Yeltsin first took over and factory workers went without paychecks. This is un-American and cuts to the core of the funereal mentality of the NJGOP.

staff?

I wasn't aware that the NJGOP had any permanent staff.

What do they even do?

Nothing but...

figure out lame campaigns not based on real issues that cause them to lose districts won by George Bush.

This state is ready for Republican leadership and Tom Kean is doing it in the Senate but we need it in the party. We need a clean sweep in Trenton and an effective North Jersey satellite office.

Wilson

Wilson must go. The State committee does nothing. A new chair needs to have experience with marketing and top-down organization. Knowledge of the Internet, and its capabilities, would be a plus. Wilson's primary job is cashing his paycheck each week.

I wrote to the party chairs

in 2003 (Kyrillos) and 2004 (Wilson), offering to write a party magazine, and distribute it at clubs all over the state, for free, if the party "would work with me" on the project. I received a polite letter from Bill Pallatucci, the finance director, saying that it was unnecessary because the party had a website, and people could find it if they wanted to. Perhaps we have seen so many challenges, and primaries, because people feel the party leadership is thinking top-down. We need to rebuild the party from the precinct level up: Assume nothing, assume no town is safe. It will take time. We may already be too late for the Governor's race, but we will stay the minority until we start from the beginning. Precinct by precinct.

Not making payroll?

Can't you be shut-down for that?

If the State GOP was shut down by the DOL or Treasury Dept, how would we know?
