According to the new Quinnipiac University poll, New Jerseyans don’t think Governor Jon Corzine should be forced to release personal e-mails sent to his former girlfriend, CWA Local 1034 President Carla Katz. More than half of the voters (52%) say they should be kept private, and 39% say they should be released. Even Republicans have mixed feelings: 46% release, 44% keep private.
So Corzine’s problems aren’t related to Katz, but rather his job performance. 57% of voters disapprove of his handling of the state budget (kudos to Brad Abelow and Gary Rose),he’s got an upside-down 38%-52% approval rating, and 39% of New Jerseyans think the state has gotten worse under his governorship (just 10% say better).

Voters are ignorant; the proof is in our government.

One New Yorker who might care?
Corzine's current girlfriend - do you think she'd like to know why he's had so much contact (private or otherwise) with the ex-girlfriend?
i think the headline is slightly misleading
To say that "New Jerseyans don't think Gov. Corzine should release..." I don't think you can make a generalization that strong when it's 52-39. Slightly more than half don't think he should, 2 in 5 do think he should. Kind of closer than the headline makes it sound.
Way to go Tom Wilson!!!!!
Tom Wilson is spending tens of thousands of dollars on a a legal fight that the public clearly disapproves of all while the state republican party cant make it's payroll.
Usually that kind of management would warrant a subpoena.
This guy deserves an MVP award from the democrats.
The new GOP slogan...."The closest thing you can get to Enron here at home."
Just another example of how
Just another example of how the GOP gets it wrong again and again and again.
Tom Wilson is the only one that cares
agree with Walton_Ford. The NJGOP can always be counted on to pick an issue no one cares about and run with it.
BS
The question was horribly worded to suggest that Corzine and Katz have only a personal relationship and that the emails involved personal matters rather than the fact that she is the head of the union for the largest group of state workers and that they were discussing matters relating to the union contract while that contract was being negotiated.
Quinnipiac should be embarassed that this question made it into the survey in the form it did.
Worried About Eating & The Economy First!
Voters who know what's going on would like to know what's in those e-mails? It's just that there are bigger fish to fry, even though the flacid governorship can't cook at all.
If there is nothing in those e-mails, why the cover-up?
Aren't these the guys who used to say things like "If you didn't do anything wrong, what's to worry about?"
Well?
Show us the e-mails and stop having the state spend tens of thousands of dollars trying to cover things up for you?
Transparency in Government
Most people don't understand the issue here and if it were properly explained, people would be boiling mad! Everything is a secret in NJ government and it doesn't suppose to be that way.
Camden School budget (hundreds of millions of dollars) - a secret.
Toll plans (hundreds of millions of dollars) - another secret.
School Contruction (billions of dollars) - no one's interested to see where it went and why. another secret.
If you use government funds or government equipment on government time, the boss (the taxpayer) should know about it.
Who commissioned the Quinnipiac Poll or is that another secret?
