Over the last seven years, New Jersey has had a few classic days – the kind politicos remember for the rest of their lives: Don DiFrancesco’s withdrawal from the race for Governor; Bob Janiszewski’s resignation as Hudson County Executive; the FBI raid that ended Jim Treffinger’s U.S. Senate bid; Bob Torricelli’s withdrawal from the U.S. Senate race; James E. McGreevey’s announcement that he was resigning as Governor; and the indictments, arrests and resignations of numerous state legislators.
There’s a chance that another one of those days could be on the horizon. There is considerable speculation that a sitting legislator from Union County may resign as early as tomorrow amidst a major scandal.
Stay tuned.

Cryan or Lesniak
I hate to arbitrarily speculate.... But anyone other than those 2 wouldn't be THAT big a story, right?
Kean Jr
I guess he's a Union County legislator too. Let's add him to the mix as well.
This doesn't say it's at the state level, necessarily
Has Mike Ferguson been drinking in Georgetown again? 8)
hmmmm
MissCookie's money is on Ferguson in a lurid hooker scandal.
Is Cryan or Cohen?
As state Democratic chairman, Cryan seems to be the more likely suspect... Besides, he is a major league dirtbag.
Cohen
Cohen....Child porn.
The state Attorney
The state Attorney General’s office has seized a computer used by a veteran state lawmaker that allegedly contained child pornography, six sources familiar with the case said today.
A computer used by Assemblyman Neil Cohen, seen in this July 2003 file photograph, allegedly contains child pornography. Assemblyman Neil Cohen, D-Union, is under investigation by the Attorney General’s office, but has yet to be charged, the sources said. The computer was taken from his legislative office Wednesday, they said.
Cohen has been hospitalized and is under psychiatric care, according to four sources.
Workers in the legislative office first discovered the material on his computer, two sources said, and the Attorney General’s office was contacted. The investigation is limited to Cohen, according to the six sources, who asked not to be identified due to the ongoing investigation.
Cohen shares his Union County legislative office with Sen. Ray Lesniak and Assemblyman Joseph Cryan, chairman of the state Democratic Party.
“I can’t have any comment right now,” Lesniak said.
Calls to the Attorney General’s office on Thursday were not immediately returned.
Cohen, 57, has served eight terms as an assemblyman and is one of that house’s most vocal liberals. A former public defender, Cohen shares a law practice with state Sen. Nia Gill, D-Montclair.
He led the push for stem cell research, sponsoring several bills to increase public funding and create a public institute to study possible medical uses for stem cells.
In 2001, Cohen sponsored a bill that created a computer hotline to report child pornography, cyber stalking and other Internet related crimes.
