New Jersey Veterans for McCain will hold a rally tonight in Carlstadt, but Bergen County GOP Chairman and U.S. Navy veteran Bob Yudin has been left off the guest list. Yudin seemed to annoy some Republicans last week when he named former Assembly Majority Leader Paul DiGaetano, an Essex County resident, as the Bergen County campaign coordinator for the Republican ticket headed by John McCain. DiGaetano is in a bitter feud with State Sen. Kevin O’Toole, an early McCain supporter who represents part of Bergen County in the State Senate – and is also the Essex County Democratic Chairman. Yudin has unsuccessfully sought to get Douglas Doyle, a politically active Bergen County lawyer, named as the McCain county coordinator.
Yudin and DiGaetano have been discussing a possible primary challenge in the 40th district next year against incumbent Assemblymen David Russo and Scott Rumana. Doyle is a possible candidate. Russo and Rumana, the Passaic County GOP Chairman, is closely allied with O’Toole.
O’Toole will be at the event tonight, along with Bergen County Clerk Kathleen Donovan and U.S. Senate candidate Dick Zimmer.

Wally: Your informant is lying.
Wally:
I shall be present at the rally tonight.
I am 100% behind Rumana and Russo in next year's election. I am 100% behind O'Toole's reelection in 3 years. All three men have been very supportive of the BCRO, and I am grateful.
The BCRO is completely supporting tonight's event.
Your informant has a hidden agenda. You should have checked with me first before you printed these lies.
Bob Yudin
Chairman
BCRO
Right on
Its about time that Wally was put in his place. Wally should have his facts straight before he goes on line. Bob and Joe Caruso have done more for Bergen and they are only a few months on the job. Keep up the good work and you will be rewarded.
sour grapes.
Will Bill Baroni ever grow up?
Misinformed?
Sounds to me like a former State Committee woman and Paul and/or Gary. The three of them have passed false rumors previously.
Mr. Yudin
Thank you for clearing this up, Mr. Yudin. I am actually pretty shocked at how Wally dropped the ball here.
Even most noob bloggers know to add an investigative tone to such posts e.g., there may be a rift or, it appears that they're feuding.
Come on Wally, you know better than this.

Bob Yudin
Mr. Chairman,
I suppose you're free to show up, but I'm not sure you were invited. You're not on the McCain press release. But anyway, lets do this: if the campaign lets you speak, I'll run a retraction. If they don't let you, the BCRO Chairman and a U.S. Navy veteran, speak, then hopefully you'll do the same. Frankly, I hope I lose.
Wally

Nitpicking
Kevin could care less about Bergen County. Considering the shape and geography of his district coupled with the necessary expansion of the districts to the South and East of it, does anyone really think O'Toole's next Senate district will be anywhere near Bergen County. He will, more likely, end up in Morris or Union Counties instead. Remember, the next State Senate race will be after redistricting.
O'Toole is a personal friend of Ortiz. He supported his friend. Once Ortiz lost that was the end of it, although I believe Kevin wrote the BCRO a check after Ortiz lost. Yudin could confirm that if I am right.
Look at the list. Mroz probably put it together which explains why his name was on there. Then he added Baroni and O'Toole because it is a STATEWIDE rally and they are the STATEWIDE chairs. Donovan and Zimmer are candidates. Siniecki was a POW. You could say Yudin's name was left off but what about Mayor Roseman from Carlstadt?
More likely this list was the result of Trenton inspeak than a real connection to the county. This folks it the problem with making lists. No one notices the names ON the list, only the names OFF the list.
CORRECTION
Bob Yudin did speak at the Veterans for McCain event tonight in Bergen County, although he did not receive an invitation until late this afternoon. Yudin's opportunity to speak came after he agreed to back off his choice for the McCain campaign's Bergen County Coordinator and agree to the selection of Eleonore Nissley, who had the backing of State Sen. Kevin O'Toole.
PolitickerNJ.com regrets our error in reporting that Yudin was not invited.
Still got it wrong?
Wally,
Since when is Kevin O'Toole the "Essex County Democratic Chairman"?
Can you please let Democratic Chairman Thigpen know he's been replaced?
Everyone should be working
Everyone should be working for McCain and the local tickets - why does everyone get hung up on titles and I wish the conspiracy theorists would find more to do with there time of starting trouble. If Sen. O’Toole thinks some people have a title of campaign coordinator will propel them to running against him in the Senate or his running mates in the Assembly and he is worried about that – it is quite sad.
