It doesn't matter
If it didn't matter when Janiszewski went down in Hudson, it doesn't matter now either.
"For his sake, I hope Joe Biden got that VP thing in writing!"- Rudy Giuliani
it will be easier to fundraise for them
without this albatross hanging over their head. He should resign and focus on defending himself.
What he built can't be maintained.
The gaping hole left in the BCDO is comparable to an nuclear explosion.
There isn't a single elected official who has the ability, leadership nor credibility to do what Joe put together for the better part of a decade.
The county will lose this year and next year and be relegated back to second class status.
Look for the 36th and 38th to be consolidated in redistricting and the 9th to be severely gerrymandered.
Not one of these incumbents on the freeholder board has the ability to get re-elected.
Not one.
They are all hand puppets without a hand.

The party is over. It would be hard to duplicate Ferriero's complete strategic and fundraising domination of Bergen County. Now, with the recent offering O'Malley as a last ditch for the BCDO old guard, the complete cluelessness of Kay Nest, the bumbling freeholder candidates with no message and no direction, and I'd say the likelihood McCain wins Bergen by a margin of 3-5 points, its a new day for Bergen. The losses this year will motivate the Weinberg people, but they will only turn an increasingly unelectable party in Bergen further left. Only a pragmatist like Senator Gordon can stop the bleeding but he has to purge the party of dreadful candidates.
As for re-districting, it may now be the Democrats to lose. A map putting the eastern portions of 38th in with North Hudson, and congressional redistricting putting Passaic and Paterson in a minority district, things will sure get more competitive in Bergen.
