
Two prominent Essex County Democrats will pay tribute to soon-to-be Republican gubernatorial candidate Christopher Christie tomorrow. Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo and Sheriff Armando Fontoura in what is being billed as an “afternoon salute.” Today is Christie’s last day as United States Attorney.
“Christie will be recognized for working with Essex County to ensure an open and ethical government, for presenting programs about the meaning of public service and ethics in government for the County’s executive staff and for being a valuable resource for local law enforcement agencies,” according to a release issued by DiVincenzo’s office.
Essex County Prosecutor Paula Dow will join the two politicians for the event at the Essex County Hall of Records.
