Rob Andrews for Governor!!!
Because electing another clueless Washington bureaucrat will work wonders for the state even more than the last time!
"I can remember way back when a liberal was one who was generous with his own money."- Will Rogers
re: "clueless bureaucrat"
I'm not sure how Andrews, one of our smartest N.J. congressman and one whose ideology is completely in line with state voters, qualifies as a "clueless bureaucrat," especially when he fights federal programs that harm the environment and corruption in congress and elections.
Of course, I don't think that Andrews and Codey would run against one another, as Andrews seemingly has his sights on Lautenberg's seat in 2014.
Andrews camp
is not refuting the possibility of a guber run if Corzine goes to Treasury. 2014 is 7 years away and there is no shortage of people in line for Lautenberg's seat today, let alone the unknowns who will be viable in another 7 years. Andrews has waited a long time to move beyond his House seat and wouldn't mind another shot at the job he ran for in 97. Besides South Jersey and Hudson, if Andrews forged alliances in either Middlesex or Monmouth (Lesniak is firmly w/Codey so Union is not an option) then he could very well beat Codey in a primary or bluff him out of the race. And Codey's insurance business and some other background issues have never been vetted statewide ... sure he is popular, but he was not a primary candidate yet, so the Corzine oppo researchers never had to open the drawers.
More Andrews
Those are some smart perspectives on Andrews, mongoose, and there probably is some wisdom behind it; he's got the name recognition and cache in South Jersey, but those northern counties are where an election can be won or lost. Andrews is next in line for whatever senate seat comes up next, though I imagine that Menendez will represent N.J. for quite some time.
I recently attended an Andrews talk at Rowan on nuclear non-proliferation and was under the impressions that the speech was also a sort of "trying out" of ideas for a national platform, at least moreso that than a statewide gubernatorial one.
Codey is overrated.
Dick Codey is the most overrated pol in NJ.
He's accomplished nothing in some thirty years and wouldn't even carry Newark, much less Essex County.
When will this overrated fossil move over for the likes of Joe D, Booker et al?
so u like Andrews???
