WEINBERG WINS COURT BATTLE TO OPEN TENAFLY 5 VOTES and ENDORSES HUTTLE AS ASSEMBLY SUCCESSOR
After winning a Superior Court decision this morning, Loretta Weinberg is now one step closer to becoming the Democratic Candidate for Senator of the 37th District. Barring a reversal from the NJ State Supreme Court, Judge Peter Doyne has ordered that he will open the ballots of the now famous "Tenafly Five" at 12 Noon on Tuesday, October 4, 2005. "This has been a lesson in both patience and civics, Weinberg said after hearing the Judge's decision to open the ballots. “The Tenafly Five’s votes will not be in vain. Throughout all the difficult times of the last few weeks, I have never lost faith in my team of lawyers, my supporters and the democratic process. Today the Judge helped me reaffirm my faith that the process does work.
Weinberg is wasting no time in her continuing pledge to support Freeholder Valerie Vainieri Huttle as her successor in the Assembly.
If all goes well in Weinberg’s favor and today’s court decision is upheld in the higher courts, a District 37 Convention is scheduled for Thursday, October 6, 2005 to fill the vacant Assembly seat which would be created by Weinberg’s win.

“In my opinion, there is no other choice to fill my seat in the Assembly. Valerie Vainieri Huttle has stood up for women, working families and for the disenfranchised and our most vulnerable citizens.
She is an independent voice on the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders. She has proven herself to be dedicated to good, open government and to the residents of District 37.
“She has done so much on the county level as the go-to person for people in need that I am confident she will do even more from the halls of the legislature.
“Valerie Vainieri Huttle is my natural successor to my Assembly seat and has my full support.
