Wells joins Edwards camp

The daughter of Scooter Libby's lawyer is going to work for John Edwards. Teresa Wells will leave her job as traveling press secretary to Governor Jon Corzine to become deputy press secretary of Edwards' bid for the 2008 presidential nomination. The highly-regarded 28-year-old worked on Corzine's campaign in 2005, and on the '04 Kerry/Edwards race.

Her father is Theodore Wells, a prominent white collar criminal defense attorney, is currently representing Libby. His former clients include Senator Robert Torricelli, Secretary of Labor Raymond Donovan, and Secretary of Agriculture Mike Espy. He was Treasurer of Bill Bradley's 2000 presidential campaign, and is the General Counsel to the New Jersey Democratic Party.

Her mother, Nina Mitchell Wells, is the New Jersey Secretary of State.

The Edwards campaign, with its anti-war, pro-worker rights platform, is gaining momentum both on a statewide and national level. He is becoming the candidate of choice for progressives looking for an authentic, candid voice, and I think Wells is making a wise choice in going to work for this campaign.

what a loss to the administration. she was talented, competent and most importantly made up for the fact that Anthony Coley was more concerned with style that substance.

You can hear the press corps crying over this loss.

Pulaski: Please, please, please have your party nominate Brownback, Romney, Hunter or Gingrich for the 2008 Republican nomination. The more conservative (in this anti-conservative, anti-Republican mood of the country), the better. Edwards would obliterate any of those candidates in the general election, and Democrats would continue their expansion and growth as a national party.
