Blee Supports Eminent Domain...BLEE LIKES TO TAKE CREDIT FOR WHELAN’S SUCCESS,
THEN LAUNCHES NEGATIVE AD AGAINST FORMER MAYOR
Like A True Trenton Politician, Blee Says One Thing And Does Another
(Egg Harbor Township) – Second District Assembly candidates Jim Whelan and Damon Tyner today said Frank Blee should stop taking credit for work he hasn’t done, and should come clean on his support for eminent domain.
At a candidates’ forum on Thursday night sponsored by the Greater Atlantic City Area Jaycees at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Blee said he supported eminent domain to help develop Atlantic City projects like the Borgata, The Walk, and the city’s connector tunnel and said they were “successes of his time in office (AC Press, 10/28/05).
Since March, Blee has been airing negative campaign attacks against Whelan on the issue of eminent domain – often denying his own support of eminent domain.
“Frank Blee likes to say one thing and do another, said Whelan. “Like a true Trenton politician, Blee panders and panders and panders. Blee launched his negative campaign against me in March on my efforts to help revitalize Atlantic City. Yet he turns around and tries to take credit for projects like the Borgata and The Walk – all eminent domain projects. Blee should come clean on his record on eminent domain.
“Frank Blee has no right to take credit for the work of Jim Whelan, said Tyner. “Jim Whelan turned Atlantic City around. He took a depressed, crime-ridden city and helped it become a safe, family-oriented international tourist destination. Frank Blee shouldn’t be taking credit for work he did not do.
