Things are not good between Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy and Hudson County Executive Thomas DeGise, who have not forgotten some fairly mean accusations leveled during a late night confrontation between friends of the two political leaders -- especially Jersey City Corporation Counsel Bill Matsikoudis and DeGise's Chief of Staff, City Councilman William Gaughan. But insiders say there is a truce of sorts, maybe because both sides are a bit frightened by the uncertainty of life in Hudson County now that U.S. Senator Robert Menendez has decided to stay out of local party squabbles. Read the Jersey Journal's Political Insider story on the Healy/DeGise feud.

Aren't you a little slow Wally just catching up now to something that happened at the League and was published in the Jersey Journal November 18? Maybe the lesson is that when Hudson pols leave the county they need to stay away from demon rum.

This feud has been getting worse and worse. The possible challenge to Quigley was just the latest step in retribution.
There is a major squabble over the PJP Landfill Site. Healy's minions on the council are facing off w/ DeGise's (several of whom having county pension-boosting jobs).
Could get worse in the near future.
