Whitman Calls on Stender to Return Pelosi Money
U.S. House Democrats Approve Record Setting $683 Billion Tax IncreaseLinda Stender Voted to Raise Taxes 94 Times in New Jersey
(Peapack, NJ)…This past weekend liberal Speaker Nancy Pelosi was in NJ raising money for fellow liberal tax raiser Linda Stender in her bid for Congress. Yesterday Pelosi’s Democrats voted for the largest tax increase in American history, $683 billion tax increase, creating tens of billions of dollars in new wasteful Washington spending and rejecting any reform to solve our nation’s entitlement crisis (House Roll Call 141).
An outraged Fiscal Conservative Kate Whitman said, “The solution isn’t higher taxes, the solution is to cut wasteful spending. The Democrats’ budget contains over 11,000 in pork-barrel earmarks at the cost of $16 billion, and will pass on an additional $14 billion in debt to future generations, because the Democrats bloated budget fails to address the fiscal crisis facing Social Security and Medicare programs. This is unacceptable!”
Whitman said, “I have pledged to taxpayers to vote against all tax increases and all wasteful pork barrel spending. I have signed the “Taxpayer Protection Pledge” and am the only candidate for Congress in the 7th District to sign the “Earmark Reform Pledge. We must stop liberals’ addiction to pork barrel spending and our tax dollars.”
Whitman continued, “Linda Stender has voted for 94 tax increases here in New Jersey. But once again, all we get from Stender is dead silence in support of higher taxes.”
“Right here and right now I call on Linda Stender to reject her liberal high taxing ways by returning the tens of thousands of dollars she raised from liberal Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her pork-barrel liberal special interests” Whitman continued.
The Democrats’ budget would impose a crippling tax increase for every single taxpayer in the United States including married couples, families with children, senior citizens, small business owners and farmers:
- Nearly 48 million married couples will be penalized with a $3,000 tax increase
- Low-income families will be hit when the child tax credit is cut by $500 per child
-Almost 18 million senior citizens will have to pay an extra $2,100 in taxes
- About 27 million family-businesses and small-business owners will be strapped with a $4,000 tax increase
- Reinstating the Death Tax will cost widows and families an additional $180.6 billion
Fiscal Conservative Kate Whitman concluded by saying, “Our economy is sagging, liberal Democrats are wrong, and I pledge that when I get to Congress I will sponsor legislation to eliminate pork-barrel earmarks FOREVER. I will put taxpayers first – always.”
