Who are Herb Conaway and Jack Conners?
A tax-hiking twosome with a record to prove it
Burlington— The campaign of 7th District Assembly candidates Brian Propp and Nancy Griffin today released the following statement on Herb Conaway and Jack Conners’ record of making New Jersey less affordable for working families by voting to increase taxes by nearly $4 billion over the last six years.
“Herb Conaway and Jack Conners are charter members of the ’90 Plus Club’- the group of Trenton politicians who have increased New Jersey’s taxes 90 times in six years,” said Brian Propp. “While they talk about making New Jersey more affordable when they’re home in the 7th District, they have a record of doing the opposite. New Jersey taxpayers have been slammed with almost $4 billion in tax hikes on Conaway and Conners’ watches. That’s not making New Jersey more affordable.”
“Most galling about these tax votes are that they hit the residents of the 7th District where they can least afford it- on seniors’ pensions, healthcare, and energy bills,” said Nancy Griffin. “They even voted to increase fees on selling your home in New Jersey- despite having the highest property taxes in the nation. Brian and I will join Senator Allen in standing up for the taxpayers and standing against tax increases. It’s time for a change- it’s time to elect tax fighters, not tax hikers, to the Assembly.”
Herb Conaway has voted for 90 tax increases costing taxpayers $3.94 billion since 2002.
