The two candidates for State Senate in the eighth district have touted endorsements from the other party: Republican-turned-Democrat Francis Bodine has Sean Kennedy, the former Executive Director of the Burlington County Republican Committee, and Republican Phil Haines has former Pemberton Democratic Municipal Chairman Nando Avila, who was the Chief of Staff to ex-State Senator Catherine Costa.

burning bridges
Mr Kennedy burned so many GOP bridges while he was in Burl Co I can't imagine his endorsement will resonate with any Republicans. A few disenfranchised washed up GOPers, like Ken Dandrea, who lost two out of three campaigns. Don't know Nando. I do know that Phil Haines is everywhere every day, 24 - 7 every year. He loves people and he loves to be out there listening to their concerns.
Sean Kennedy
He was USELESS in Gloucester County and He is USELESS now.........
Who cares!
Why do we expend so much energy on this crap? No one is going to vote for Bodine because of Kennedy and no one will vote for Phil because of Nando. Phil will win because as the Courier Post so elequantly pointed out - Bodine has been a do nothing Assemblyman and he will do nothing as Senator except line his pockets!
Bodine = Judas Goat
Goodbye tired old goat.
It makes me feel
Warm and fuzzy to see the Bodine/Kennedy debacle go up in flames.
Fran was dumped by the party because of his abuses and conflicts.
Sean was pushed out because he continued to put himself above the party. That was made evident, yet again, when he endorsed Bodine.
When Sean was ED, he bashed Bodine EVERY chance he had. Then, when he thought he could make a buck, he sold his soul and said Bodine was the best choice.
No character. Just sad.
So long suckers. I’m sure Perr can get you some contracts in Camden.
Are you kidding?
When Kennedy was E.D. the Burlington GOP was a respected and even formidable operation. Trust me when I say that every Democratic leader, operative and strategist is thankful that Kennedy is no longer helping the corrupt Burlington GOP.
qoute of the day
“Not to take away from Phil’s candidacy but how can any Democrat vote for Fran Bodine?” asked Avila. “Mr. Bodine is running as a reformer and he has been part of the problem in Trenton for 12 years."
Nando Avila
Dems for Haines press release
Don't worry BurlcoDemo09
"Trust me when I say that every Democratic leader, operative and strategist is thankful that Kennedy is no longer helping the corrupt Burlington GOP."
The GOP is just as glad to see him go - You will find out what kind of a person Sean is soon enough! Enjoy!
