Democratic Unity
No one is running against Lautenberg in the Democratic primary; we're united behind him. When his next term is over, Andrews should receive the nomination, if for nothing else than South Jersey has not been represented in the U.S. senate for quite some time (and Andrews is eminently qualified).
I hope
That Frank Lautenberg lives to be 150 considering the crop of likely replacements.
Obscure candidate from PC(freeholder)
Since the politicker people are including "not a chance in hell" people, why don't you add the "candidate" for freeholder in Passaic County?! I figure if no one knows him in the county,,,then shoot for the stars. He deserves a shot.
Why doesn't Andrews just run?
If Rob Andrews really thinks he should be a senator, then file your petitions against the fossil!
What is this consumption of time and energy of wanting to run, wanting to be appointed or wanting to be the choice of the governor in the case of a vacancy?
If you want to be the senator than run and beat this man in primary.
The problem with that equation of course is the risk of losing and then being out of a cushy seat in congress with zero opposition.
Rob Andrews has run in one competitive race in his life and lost to McGreevey in 1997. Lautenberg won a tough primary in 1982, beat Fenwick, Dawkins, Haytaiian and Forester.
At least Lautenberg has run and earned the seat. Something his successors are afraid to do.
These polls
The Honorable Aaron Burr, Vice President of the United States
Does anyone realize that no one gives a hoot about these polls anyway? How about a poll on Xanadu and Bob Sommer trying to convince everyone how great it is. Have you heard Codey and what he said. Two jokes - Xanadu and Bob Sommer.
Andrews....Not
Remember people that Andrews is responsible for a Whitman second term in '97. After he lost the primary, he whent back to DC, never to be heard from again. North Jersey is still not over that 1, & I dare say, neither are the good people of NJ
Byrne? Weinberg?
why oh why are Tom Byrne and Loretta Weinberg included in this poll?
That's just being silly...
Andrews
If he wants it so bad run for it-I agree. Frank Lautenberg has been a great Senator for NJ over the years and he has earned his right to run. Andrews simply wants more and more power-but he is afraid to pull the trigger. If he has been this sheepish as a Congressman imagine how terrible he will be in the Senate
