(TRENTON) - Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D-Middlesex), released the following statement after he cast his vote on the floor of the Assembly today in support of legislation (A-500) to establish a new formula for the funding of New Jersey's public schools:
"My vote in favor of the school funding formula was based solely on my belief that this is a good plan that will benefit schools and taxpayers across the state.
"This is a formula that the Governor and Legislature can fund through the regular appropriations process.
"No one should misconstrue my support of this measure as a signal that I am compromising on my concerns about the Governor's soon-to-be-announced fiscal restructuring plan.
"I am and will always be committed to the proposition that transportation assets should be used exclusively for transportation purposes."
