LONG BRANCH MAYOR BACKS ANDREWS FOR SENATE
SCHNEIDER CITES A NEED FOR NEW IDEAS
LONG BRANCH -- Today, Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider announced his endorsement for U.S. Senate candidate Congressman Rob Andrews. Schneider, a Democrat, has been Mayor of the non-partisan city for over 20 years.
Schneider said, “I’m supporting Congressman Andrews for Senate because he will not only bring new ideas and changes in policy to the Senate, he will also bring a sense of new energy and enthusiasm to New Jersey.” Schneider added, “When Congressman Andrews reached out to us to discuss the issues affecting Long Branch and his campaign for Senate, we were very excited. It’s been quite a while since Senator Lautenberg reached out to our city.”
“As a Congressman representing Camden and an active supporter of that city’s revitalization, Rob understands the needs of cities like Long Branch.” Schneider added that he admired the Congressman’s hard work for his district. “Anyone who looks at Rob Andrews’ record will see he has been a tireless representative of his constituents. His accomplishments as a Congressman are exemplary and I’m excited to see him bring that same energy to the Senate.”
Schneider said, “Families in Long Branch are facing the same problems afflicting families across the country. We need leadership in the Senate that will bring a new perspective and fresh ideas to address the issues that are important to all of us.”
Early last week in honor of Earth Day, Mayor Schneider and members of the Mayor’s energy review committee unveiled a variety of initiatives to make the city more environmentally friendly. One of these initiatives included providing builders who use wind power with certain benefits and credits.
Mayor Schneider cited this initiative as an example of why he backs Andrews, “Global warming and the need for alternative energy are perfect examples of why we need leaders who are willing think outside the box, Congressman Andrews brings that ability to the Senate.”
